There Once Was a Woman on the Verge

There once was a Woman on the Verge
Whose dreams were so bright, they did surge
Untethered by rules
Her friends were her jewels
And together, their hopes would emerge
The Woman on the Verge was named Hope
For president she ran, then for pope
Her heart is what reigned
She couldn't be contained
To capture her there is no rope
A leader, a light and a friend
Not apt to follow a trend
Blazing her own path
Unafraid of the wrath
Oops! She might even offend

We are always here.0 pointsannhite wrote 395 Days Ago (positive) 1This poem was just what I needed today. I have someone close to me who is gravely ill. This poem so speaks to what she has taught me. I'm so glad I stopped by to read it. ;)0 pointsAnaLewis wrote 395 Days Ago (neutral) 0A big poet... I like the sounds of that. Scoot over Ms. Angelou, this poet is on the Verge!! :) Thank you both.0 points
