The Touch of Memory
The Touch of Memory
108 days ago 3 comments Categories: Life Tags:

Loss of a loved one becomes such a public journey of personal grief.  We are surrounded by family & friends, sharing moments of silent tears and unspoken words.   At times, it seems as if we are merely going through the motions of what is expected not necessarily self respected.   There are moments of guilt for not having done or said. Then there are moments of joy as we remember of having been and spoken.

We almost instantly begin to miss what we know will never be.  The sound of their voice & the reassurance of their touch.   Tomorrow has no right to come, for we are not yet done saying our goodbyes.  We do want to let go of the present as we are still near them and them to us.  One more minute, one more hour, let us be.

As time passes, the aching in our hearts eases as & we slowly begin to come to terms within us that what was, will never be.   We begin to draw nearer to us, the memories of that person.   The sound of their voice, their laughter.  All the things they accomplished, along with the things yet to have been.    Their certain ways and at times,  uncertain silences.

The touch of memory will ensure they are forever near your heart & soul.

To Anna, I'm sorry for your loss and thinking of you, always.

I don't know what I would have done or do without you and WOTV. You believed in me when I didn't & welcomed me back after long silences. THANK YOU SO MUCH!
