Here is a wake-up call to all those who think they know all about women in their 50's. To all the checklists, best learnings, latest information, esteemed colleagues, steamed politicans, doctors, candlestick makers, lost in translation, never spoken, written poorly...get lost! Some women in their 50's don't give up sex because of diminished sex drive, we give it up because we don't feel like giving lessons and/or can't find a suitable partner. Some women in their 50's don't want to wear clothing that either makes us look 10 years older, 30 years younger & forever dumber. Some women don't want to be treated as though they are no longer capable of logical or rational thought because they are experiencing menopause (didn't we get accused of the same thing but then it was menstruation?) . Some women in their 50's don't want to be told you're too old for the clubs but too young for any social assistance. Some women in their 50's don't want to be patronized as though we are hard of hearing, challenged by any language or need to be offered every available seat on the bus because we must be hard pressed to stand & hold on to a pole at the same time. This woman in her 50's still buys and wears sexy lingerie, still thinks of sex and knows her way around a vibrator. This woman still has the balls to think of balls. This woman still has the energy to walk 5-6 km's a day, think of herself as a woman on the verge of something and more importantly, wants to. This woman is still capable of thinking, speaking, standing, sitting, swallowing, screaming, singing & singing somebody's ass for thinking she can't.
And, this woman, thinks everyone of her sisters, no matter what age, should never be underestimated or undervalued. This woman knows without her sisters, she is only half complete & fulfilled.
Marta wrote 85 Days Ago (neutral) 0Heidi, you so nailed it. G/F whatever would I do without your putting it into language so beautifully. The other one I hate is when anyone a bit older is called a cougar, it is never said as a compliment.
Why should we stop looking, give up a bit of harmless flirtation all because we are no longer 20?
Love you so much my friend. I value you and your friendship to the bottom of my heart and will treasure it always.0 points
