A woman claims to have been sexually assaulted.

"He was set up. He couldn't have."

Some claim Sarkozy himself had him framed. Well, wouldn't that make for a great story?

All the papers say how DSK's weakness is women, how well-known it is.

"She's a lowly maid." Can you believe people would say that? A lowly maid?

A french philosopher defends Strauss-Khan, yep, the same one who came to Polanski's rescue. How lovely.

People say, DSK has so much money, he could have paid for sex.

Others say he doesn't have the profile of a rapist.

French people are up in arms over the photos of DSK handcuffed. This is not allowed in France. What do they expect? Are they going to dictate how Americans judges and the international press should behave?

Who's going to be the next French president?

DSK was a strong contender, now France faces the prospect of Marine Le pen playing a big role in the next elections.

God, what a mess!

My thoughts go to all the victims of rape and sexual abuse. No-one deserves that.

Much more could be said, so much has already been said. Just wanted to let it out.

I'm also glad you brought up this case. The 'lowly maid' comment irks me as well. And then there is always that immediate assumption that the woman made it up to get money. Not everything is about the almighty dollar. I was awarded criminal compensation and it meant nothing: I am still trying to heal after I was raped. But, you know, despite the stigma it can attach to us (to some people), we need to talk about these issues openly.

The wicked will face their judgement be it now or later. I will keep praying for justice and vindication. For the victims to be redeemed. No one deserves to be called "lowly" and treated like an object. There's going to be shift...this has to change.

Oooh!!! Love how you are willing to "go there". This is such a hot topic in our household. My husband is French and he is clutching his head over it. My gosh, what is the world coming to? Is he too powerful to fall? Obviously not.
